Specialist Relocation of Modular and Portable Buildings

We specialise in the relocation of all types of modular and portable buildings, nationwide. Whether you're moving a single cabin across your site or a multi-module building to the other end of the country, we have the ability and experience to deliver a professional service.

Our Relocation Process

  1. Survey and planning. We assess the building, the current site and the new location, and plan access, lifting and transport.
  2. Risk assessments and method statements. Every project is covered by site-specific RAMS.
  3. Careful disconnection. Services are safely disconnected and joints, roofing and electrics are separated correctly, not cut.
  4. Dismantle and bracing. Each module is braced for transit to protect its structure.
  5. Transport and lifting. Modules are loaded, transported and lifted into position at the new site.
  6. Re-installation and handover. We rejoin the modules, reinstate the roof and services, and hand the building back ready to use.

Buildings We Relocate

  • Mobile and temporary classrooms
  • Demountable offices
  • Portable site offices and welfare units
  • Single and two storey multi-module buildings

Moving is also an ideal time to upgrade. Many clients combine relocation with refurbishment or eco-friendly upgrades, so the building arrives at its new home looking and performing better than before.

Relocation: Frequently Asked Questions

Can a modular building be moved?

Yes. Modular and portable buildings are designed to be demountable, so they can be dismantled, transported and re-installed at a new location. The key is doing it correctly so the modules, electrics and roof aren't damaged in the process.

How much does it cost to relocate a modular building?

The cost depends on the size of the building, the number of modules, the distance between sites, site access and lifting requirements, and any work needed at the new location. Contact us for a free, no-obligation quote.

How long does it take to relocate a portable building?

Smaller buildings can often be moved in a matter of days, while larger multi-module buildings take longer. We'll give you a clear programme as part of your quote so you can plan around the move.

Will my building be damaged during relocation?

Damage usually happens when buildings aren't braced properly for transit, or when electrics and roofing membranes are cut at the joints. We plan every move to avoid these problems, using correct bracing and careful disconnection, backed by over 40 years' experience.

Do I need planning permission to put a relocated building on a new site?

Often, yes. A building that has permission at one location doesn't automatically have permission at another, so check with the local planning authority for the new site before the move.

Can you relocate a building supplied by another company?

Yes. We relocate all types of modular and portable buildings, regardless of who manufactured or supplied them.
